We will study David’s rise to Kingship within Saul’s court. The book of Samuel shows us how David became a man of the people, the beloved of God, and our hope for future redemption. Together we explore these biblical texts, as well as the Sages who struggled for the clarity of a hero within texts that celebrate his complexity.

The Jewish school of Mussar is rooted in Torah and continues to grow today. It is our approach to Tikkun Olam as we learn how we empower ourselves through using our free will. The texts we will examine together focus on recognizing imbalances in how we live and act and ways to restore equilibrium.
